We have our stuff! Some is broken or scratched, but it is here. Most is still in boxes. Today I unpacked the kitchen and started organizing. I must say when you don't buy (much) packaged food, it is much more simple to organize a pantry. Plastic storage containers, not so easy. This kitchen is smaller than others, but I do have an extra closet to store things in. Living without a dishwasher is not much fun, I feel like I spend so much time doing dishes. I think I'm asking for a bench top dishwasher for my birthday.
Yesterday I unpacked some of Abigail's toys. We have too many toys. It's so hard to get rid of them, because they all seem to have something behind them. But living in this small of a house and sharing this much space, some changes will need to be made. We've never had toys in the bedroom, because that room is for sleeping. But I'm not sure it will stay that way here. Her room is as big as the living room. We shall see.
I need to do our room next, we can barely get in the door.
Not sure how much I'm going to hang here since it is just a rental. Makes me a little sad, we spent a fair amount of money and energy getting pictures and frames for our Pittsburgh house. And Abigail's room was so cute. Ugh, moving and renting. I think I am ready to say I'm tired of moving.
I already have a box full of garage sale stuff, we've lived on so little for 3 months, part of me doesn't want most of this stuff I'm unboxing. I'm never going to have 12 people over for dinner, why in the world do I have silverware for that? I'm also going to get rid of some of my measuring spoons and cups, because they are the cheap plastic kind, not because I don't use them. I love to cook, just hate to clean.
What I missed most was my hobby stuff, scrapbooking and sewing. Although I did bring my sewing machine in the air shipment, so I've sewed a lot of stuff already (skirts, curtains).
It's hard to balance right now. I have to unpack, cook, clean, and take care of Abigail. It's just for a time. It's just for a time.
